The Watford Velmurugan Temple began with small weekly Friday services at a local community centre. As the Temple grew, it moved to premises leased from the Watford Borough Council in the heart of Watford. In March 2019, the Temple was relocated to its current location at The Owls Bowls Club. The Temple’s current lease with the Watford Borough Council is imminently due to expire, and the Trustees are currently searching for suitable premises so that the Temple can continue to serve the needs of the local Hindu community.
Velmurugan Temple was the first Tamil temple to be consecrated in Watford.Celebrates all Hindu and Tamil festivals, holidays, and special occasions. We follow the Saivite traditions of pujas, agamas and worship at our temple.
